Faithfully--scene 1

Below is the first scene of FAITHFULLY. I am not sure where this family came from or who was related to who or how, there seems to be an older woman about Bobby's mom's age and a Man about Bobby's (so first cousins maybe) a teenage boy and two young children(2nd cousins). They COULD have dropped an explanation when Bobby meets Alex and instead of just 'family' say 'my Mom's sister and her son and grandchildren' or whoever they were. Because seven seasons all we knew was Bobby, his mom and Frank then Donnie. Another frustration with the new writing staff. And so it goes... a sweet scene. Mr. Wolf I do not claim; only taking them out to play.

SCENE 1........DINING ROOM

Molly, "Bless us oh Lord,"

Molly, "...for these thy gifts,"

Molly, "...which we are about to receive through the bounty of Christ our Lord."

Molly, "Amen."

All, "Amen."

Molly, "Butter beans?"

Bobby, "Okay."

"Thanks."

I think there was a script or casting list description that said this was an aunt's family. So the girl was more likely a cousin. It's not uncommon to use "aunt" or "uncle" for cousins that are so much older. I did that when I was young. My cousin had kids that were my age and I called the parents aunt and uncle.

It's a bit annoying that they introduced this and then did nothing more with it in a later episode.

This scene was useless. As in, it made no sense. It was of no use. It was just a nod in the general direction of fans who wanted to see what was happening for Goren, in the hopes that we'd be satisfied - starving as we were - with a tidbit dropped off the edge of the plate instead of an actual balanced meal. Three courses, nutritionally comprehensive, all the food groups. Huh.

Started that way episode ended with him looking at pictures they had sent him. Answered no questions and like you I thought it was thrown as a bone to the fans hungering for more.

Few! While not a bean fan I am relieved to hear they are not some dreadful bean/butter monstrosity!
