A/N: Continuing story of a MCS detective who happens to be a serial killer, lusting after Alex but afraid of Bobby.
Her belligerence didn’t mask her embarrassment as she hoped.
“You stayed with him.”
“All weekend, and Bobby, you leave Jim alone. You’ve no right to interfere with my private life. I‘ll go to Ross.”
Bobby later watched Alex return from the conference room and lift the paper lying on her desk. Her face blanched. She moved to the shredder and destroyed it before Bobby could reach her.
“Alex,” he whispered gently rubbing his hands up her trembling arms, “Trust me, sweetheart.”
She hesitated, tempted, aching to lean back into his comfort, then jerked away. “I don’t need or want help. Leave me the fuck alone.”
Bobby caught Megan at the elevators, pulled her into the stairwell, voiced his concerns and asked her to take Alex to lunch.
