Bobby Goren could glare with the best of them as Ross was discovering.
"It's only for a week. Just let him follow you two around and observe."
Bobby stomped out of the room to his desk without a word. Alex lingered giving her captain a pleading look.
Holding up a hand, "I know Eames, I know, but it's a favor to the Commissioner. Just--" he rolled a hand around, "--try to keep them apart."
"And how am I suppose to do that when the Commissioner specifically told him to observe Bobby’s techniques?"
That Bobby was unsettled was an understatement. He hated being judged. Why couldn’t he just do his job in peace.
He opened his mouth but Alex waved him away. "You may as well settle down. He's just a new detective, a kid, he’ll be an eager puppy."
"Bet the first words out of his mouth is perp instead of unsub or person of interest from watching too much television."
"Shh...here he comes."
Goren glanced at the Captain and fresh-faced kid beside him. "God, what is he, twelve?"
"Bobby," was Eames only warning as she stood and was introduced.
"J...just call me Davy, and Detective Eames, this is for you." He handed her a small green glass planter with the recycle symbol. Four tiny leaves waved from the top.
"Err...uh...thanks."
They settled him beside Alex.
"Hey Goren," Officer Smith called, "Roger Barrett’s in interview one."
Bobby stood with his binder. Alex gathered a file and rose. Davy scrambled up, "So you're interviewing a perp?"
Bobby jerked around and exchanged an amused look with Alex.
She grimaced back. Alex steered Davy into the observation room, turned on the speaker. "Just stand, watch and listen."
Bobby touched Alex’s arm to stop her before entering the interview room. "Green as that fucking plant."
Exasperated, "Bobby."
