Tribute

As much as I hate to pay that she devil for anything, my mother is the one who triggered my love for reading. I read everything and anything to escape into another world that was not embittered and filled with pain.

My love of writing must be credited to Santa Claus who brought me my first diary at nine. I can’t bring myself to give her credit for it since its sole purpose was to find out what I was doing or thinking. I quickly made up a code to write with since my thoughts usually lead to a thick leather belt and nice red welts on my legs and back.

So now I still am an eclectic voracious reader and have journals for twenty years. I destroyed all my journals and diaries when I married (which I truly regret).

So putting aside the escapism and the pain, I suppose I must thank you mother, wherever your soul is residing.

That was heartwrenching. You converyed so much in so few words, and did it beautifully.

::hugs:: I know the feeling. I telling myself i should write it and act all happy that something positive came out of it but it's hard to write about.

::hugs:: You became a great writer. I'm sad it had to happen that way though.

I don't think about my childhood and I don't usually write about it.

I was so fortunate to have a computer at that age, even in the late 80s and early 90s, to hide my thoughts in, where my mother couldn't reach. Probably spared me a few welts. I'm sorry for yours. *hugs*

Sending hugs my love.x I know what it is to have an unhappy childhood and I suppose really it's best left in the past but things happen that spark a memory and you re-visit.

You've certainly proven the rule that great writers often are dedicated journal writers...

Thanks for being diplomatic, I know I am too blunt at times.
