Wordcount: 245 not including verse at the top
I'm coming home
I'm coming home
tell the World I'm coming home
Let the rain wash away all the pain of yesterday
I know my kingdom awaits and they've forgiven my mistakes
I'm coming home, I'm coming home
tell the World that I'm coming
********************************
Eddard Stark walked through the gates of Winterfell, no one welcomed him home. No one could see him. He glided through the door of the Manor and paused at the sight of his son sitting above the Lords of the other great houses. Tears fell from his eyes for the responsibility he’d left upon his son’s shoulders. But he was proud to see he had Bran in a special chair beside him. Damn Robert and himself for giving in to him. And damn the Lannisters.
He wanted to stay and watch his son--had he remembered all that he had taught him of war?
But he had little time, now. He’d already used most of his energy coming home. He turned to the stairs and climbed up to find Cate, his love, his life. He found her sitting alone in their room rocking Rickin. He touched her face, “I’m home Cat. No more tears, my love, my kingdom awaits and they’ve forgiven my mistakes.
He felt the pull and fought for a few more seconds to gaze at her face. Then he was before the entrance of the Stark tomb. He descended the steps into the darkness but he had no trouble seeing. He paused before his own tomb. He was home. He made note of Cate’s empty tomb waiting below his, for the day they‘d be reunited. He glanced left and froze. KING ROBB STARK was carved above the empty tomb. By all the Gods, what had they done; and with that last thought his spirit passed to the Otherworld.
