These DAMN CICADAS are driving me crazy. The warmer it gets the louder they get. Thousands of males whose mating call rises and falls like an incoming tide of ocean waves. Loud...normal...loud...normal. It never stops. MATE ALREADY lay your eggs in the ground and die.

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG. Nothing drowns them out, not the TV or radio. Ear phones help but you have to turn it up so loud your eardrums ache.

Rant is now over. I hate all BUGS.

That IS what I m saying. They wake, dig out of the ground, shed their outer shell. Eat everything green in sight, the males call out their mating call, they mate the females lay eggs deep in the ground then they all die. And there is peace for thirteen years.

We have tree frogs here and they drive me crazy at night when they decide to have free concerts with all their friends and just blast us with their noise.

Well let me box up about a hundred off my balcony and send them to you because they will block out all of that so you will cry with relief when they are gone.(=

The news tonite said when they are all in chorus together they are between 83 an 95 decibels, the same as a motorcycle, chain saw and sirens running continuously. That if they stayed at that level instead of waving it would cause hearing damage over four hours.

They've been hitting my patio windows and scratching the glass and singing since dark. It is suppose to storm. Maybe that will shut them up.

Nothing block them out--nothing. Sure I can't send you some? If all my LJF liat would take a hundred then that would come close to cleaning them out. If you have a Parrot or dog they love to eat them. Cats too.

We had the cicadas about 4-5 years ago...I can deal with the sound, but I hate the dead bodies all over the sidewalk. *ugh*

GOSH! We've nothing like that here in the UK. Though I must admit I get a bit fed up of hearing the birds sing. How dare they be so happy!! LOL.

Cicadas are the dumbest animals on the planet, too. What other kind of bug jumps AT you when you scare it? Stupid things.
