Buffy sat at the kitchen table rubbing her feet. Spike paced the floor, his agitation obvious.

"Would you sit down."

He jerked her chair around and pushed his face close to hers, "Slayer! You pushed it too close this time. If I had not found out about your crazy scheme from Willow, you would now be dead."

Buffy sighed, "Okay, I should have waited for help."

"You think?"

"How was I to know there was an entire nest of vamps in that cavern?"

"Reconnaissance, Buffy, you scout it out. You're not invincible."

"Alright," she pushed him back, "You've made your point."

"And you swear to me now, Slayer, never to repeat such a foolhardy attempt without me again."

Buffy looped her arms around his neck sprinkling kissing around his lips, "I promise never to do anything foolish again unless you are there to do it with me." She set about soothing the ruffled feathers of her own vampire.
