CITYLAND--TRUE BLOOD Prompt "FRIENDS"

PAM & SOOKIE
>300 WORDS
RATED R for VIOLENCE
Friends

Sookie shook her head, everything swam into view and cleared and the noise returned. She raised up on one elbow, wincing. Pam was pinned against Eric’s throne by several lengths of chain. Three vampires stood over her. The middle one slashed her across the face and demanded, “You will tell me the resting place of the Northman or it will be the end of you.”

A female vampire to his left giggled, “We’re torturing you nice and slow, so don’t think your release will be easy."

Sookie remembered now, she had come to Fangtasia at closing hoping to catch Eric before he went to ground. He’d sent people to put in a modern kitchen and she’d been furious. She’d missed Eric but these three came in when everyone but Pam and herself remained. They should have killed her but they simply tossed her towards the middle of the room and she vaguely remembered landing on top of a table, it breaking under her, a sharp pain in her head, then nothing.

Pam’s oath as he shoved another silver spike into her stomach brought Sookie’s attention back to the present. He turned and sent each female vampire to the front and back door then turned and slapped Pam across the face with a silver chain. Her skin hissed.

“Now, tell me where the Northman rests.”

“You may as well kill me but Eric will make you pay in kind. I wouldn’t want to be you after he rises.”

He swung the chain back to strike again when suddenly he exploded.

“Yuck, I hate this part,” Sookie stood covered in Vampire remains stake still in her hand. She steeled herself to walk through the mess ruining her new sneakers to get to Pam and unchained her and she suffered more than Pam, tears streaming as she pulled three silver spikes from Pam’s stomach. She gently touched Pam’s face, “Hon, you feel as terrible as you look?”

“I will heal.” In fact, wounds were already closing. “Don’t move, Sookie.”

Using vampire speed she went to the front then the back door dragging two screeching and struggling female vampires with her.

“Be a dear, Sookie and open the door down to the cellar. Still wiping gunk from herself Sookie happily complied. She didn’t follow Pam down as she knew she was cuffing them with silver to the wall to await Eric’s judgment. Anyway the place was just creepy. She took herself to Eric’s office and used the shower he had in there.

Pam handed her a towel and knowing Pam’s sexual preferences quickly wrapped it around herself. As she dried her hair Pam was puzzled, “Why did you do that, Sookie. You could have hid behind the bar, they had forgotten about you. You put yourself in danger for me. You’d have died if he’d sensed you.”

“Friends don’t leave friends in trouble.”

“We are friends?”

“Well, yes. . .of course.”

“I don’t think I’ve ever had a friend before.”

“What about Eric?”

“Eric’s my maker, my father, once upon a time my lover but vampires don’t have friends.”

“Well, you do. . .me.”

Sookie dropped the towel to dress in the dry clothes Pam brought, “Friends perhaps with benefits, little Sookie, I see you're a true blond, I wondered.”

Sookie turned and blushed bright red at where Pam’s gaze lingered.

“OUT!”

“Really, Sookie, I was teasing you, don’t friends do that?”

“Well, yeah,” uncertainly.

“Besides, Eric has claimed you. I could not touch you even if you agreed.” She laughed as she shut the door on her way out.

“OHH!” Sookie stomped her foot. “Vampires!”
